The 48-hour London flagship hack — part one of the Big Screen Hack: Cannes 2026 programme — just wrapped. Two tracks (Builder Hack + Filmmaker Hack) ran side by side at our central London venue with online entries from around the world. Kick-off 6pm Friday, submissions closed 7pm Sunday. Every film that shipped is below.
Builders and filmmakers both welcome on either track. Engineers brought the stack, filmmakers brought story instinct, mentor surgeries ran throughout. The strongest teams mixed both disciplines.
Shipped a tool, technique, or approach the industry can use — with the newest creative AI on the planet. Ships: a new piece of cinema-grade software.
Developed, storyboarded, shot and cut a short film in a weekend. One theme revealed live, mentor surgeries throughout. Ships: one short film.

Every submission is being transcoded onto our streaming CDN. As each one lands it'll appear above — refresh in a few hours, or follow the build live.
Sun 17 May: the Big Screen Hack × RecDek House Villa Party — our own party on the eve of the festival matinée, doors open in the evening for an after-party up to 400 guests. Mon 18 May: Cinéum Cannes hosts the official festival screening of the winning hackathon films (2pm matinée).
